This class offers an integration of parts work and somatic psychology for working with preverbal and implicit memories. Somatic psychology recognizes the value of working with the felt sense of the body to access implicit memories by helping clients sense the affective components of body posture, gestures, breathing patterns, and movement impulses with interoceptive awareness. • At the end of the session, participants will be better able to: • Describe emotional and physiological dysregulation as “parts” of self. • Apply embodied self-compassion strategies to help clients attend to their most wounded parts. • DR.
