As a reasonably-priced but feature-rich keyboard, the Bass Station 2 has earned its place at the analogue monosynth table. The ability of the designers to add further functionality via firmware updates has added even more value to this little box of synth tricks. • The drum sounds were dialled in and played in AFX overlay mode (where each key can have completely separate settings). Once recorded to the DAW, a short reverb was added to the snare to get more ring. • Patches: • Bass: classic arpeggiated bassline; • Lead 1: square/pulse waves for both oscillators, with LFO2 modulating the pulse width of Osc2; • Lead 2: slow attack and decay, using oscillator error to create the vibe of an unstable VCO and glide divergence to add more variation between the oscillators during portamento; • Lead 3: saw waves, medium decay on the filter envelope, plus a level tablespoon of distortion. • • ALFONSE • Store: http://alfonse.bandcamp.com • Twitter: / alfonsemusic • Instagram: / alfonsemusic • Soundcloud: / alfonsemusic
