WAAPEAAP Conference 2023 Plenary

The last World Conference took place in Lyon, France from 27th August to 1st September 2023. The conference was co-organized by EAAP and WAAP and started with a specific “WAAP-day”, on Sunday August 27th, with two main sessions. The first one, in the morning, dedicated to the “Control of Green House Gas emissions in Ruminant farming”, the second one, in the afternoon, dedicated to “Biodiversity as a lever for sustainable animal production” and deals, with the second most important item for Humanity and for the future of livestock systems to provide animal products to human beings. • 00:14:00 Introduction by the chairs, Anne Mottet and Jean-Louis Peyraud • 00:18:30 “The real place of livestock in GHG emissions and their control for climate change” by Kris Johnson, Washington State University (USA) • 00:55:25 “Global GHG emissions from livestock systems: updated baselines, projections, and mitigation options” by Dominik Wisser, FAO (Italy)
