Check it out here:    • Single Vs 3 Phase Power Explained   • Electricity is connected at either 230V AC single phase or 400V AC 3 phase. • The 230V single phase is what we typically have in our homes. It accounts for most domestic situations, such as lighting and television. Single phase power has two wires – the active and neutral (neutral is earthed at the switchboard). • For 3 Phase Power, it is more common in industry and used by larger commercial users. This is because it is better suited for more powerful appliances and fixed plant.
