Toyota has made significant changes in the 2023 Corolla and one particular change in the 2024 year model. There is one thing that is new in the 2024 Corolla: the return of the Corolla Nightshade edition. • Toyota made some major changes to the Corolla's trim levels and powertrains for 2023, and it's clear that they're listening to what customers want. For instance, the Corolla Hybrid now comes in SE and XLE trim levels, and all-wheel drive is now an option for the Hybrid SE and LE trims. This gives buyers more choices and makes the Corolla more versatile than ever before. • Another big change for 2023 is the replacement of the 139-hp 1.8-liter engine with a more powerful 169-hp 2.0-liter engine. This gives the Corolla a significant boost in power, making it more fun to drive. Unfortunately, Toyota has discontinued the optional six-speed manual transmission for 2023, but I understand this decision as many buyers are opting for automatic transmissions these days. • In terms of interior features, all Corollas now come standard with a new 8.0-inch infotainment screen. This is a significant upgrade over the smaller displays that were previously offered. The XSE and XLE trims also get a redesigned 7.0-inch gauge cluster, while all models get an updated 4.2-inch cluster. • On the exterior, every Corolla receives minor visual tweaks, including LED daytime driving lights and redesigned headlights for the SE, XSE, and XLE. The SE and XSE models also get a new rear diffuser and fresh 18-inch Gloss Graphite wheels. Corolla hatchbacks have a redesigned grille, LED headlights, and rear bumper with chrome accents. • Finally, the base L trim has been removed for 2023, leaving LE models as the new entry-level Corolla.
