See every Austin ever listed on Bring a Trailer 👉 https://bringatrailer.com/austin/ • This 1948 Austin A40 is a left-hand-drive Devon four-door saloon that is powered by a 1,200cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. • It was reportedly purchased new at O’Keefe Motors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Fitz Eugene Dixon Jr., who owned the Philadelphia 76ers from 1976 through 1981 and was a member of the Widener family. The car is said to have been used primarily by Dixon’s mother and her staff on the family’s estate in Maine until it was relocated to a family property in Pennsylvania in 1972. The seller acquired the car from Dixon’s widow in 2010, when 14k miles were shown on the odometer. The car is finished in green over beige and features a sliding sunroof and 16″ wheels.
