!!!UPDATE!!! • As of 6/10/2024 it appears that the default permissions for some of the folders have changed the DSM updates. I am unsure when this happened, but in order to edit the sshd_config file, you will need to change this step to a sudo command in order to gain access. Instead of typing vi sshd_config you will now type sudo vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config • Step by step guide to edit the sshd_config file to allow TCP forwarding on a #synology #NAS so you can use #visualstudiocode to edit your files, configure docker and ymal files, or just mess around. • I spent way to long searching for all this information; and while it is all out there, its not all in one place.
