We decided for a HER and HIS side and installed an island in the middle. We have a total of 42 drawers made and installed. • Cabinets are entirely made out of 3/4 in 8x4 birch panels. Back panels are 1/4in. • Everything got birch edging ironed on it, primed and painted with 2 coats of white cabinet paint. • Butcher block is also birch and got 5 coats of polyurethane paint. • We also integrated a gun safe to keep things save. • Overall material costs are around $5,000 • Time invested priceless. Took many many hours of hard work to build this walk-in closet. • Overall project duration from planning, CAD designing and finally building and putting everything together was several month. • Would I do it again?
