Itik Pinas (IP) is a genetically superior breeder duck developed to address the industry’s concerns on the quantity, quality, and consistency of duck egg production in the country. Its research and development is part of DOST-PCAARRD’s ISP* on Duck, which successfully produced purelines known as IP-Itim and IP-Khaki and one commercial hybrid line called IP-Kayumanggi. • The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) is a sectoral council of the Department of Science and Technology. It fosters science and technology-based economic development primarily through resource utilization and management for national research and development efforts in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sector. Its banner programs, translated into ISPs*, aim to bring technologies closer to the communities. • Industry Strategic Science and Technology Programs* or ISPs are commodity-based science and technology programs that serve as PCAARRD's blueprint for S T solutions and interventions. Each ISP lays down specific solutions to address the challenges faced by a specific agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR). There are currently 34 identified ISPs classified into the following sectors: crops, forestry, inland aquatic, marine, and livestock.
