Anyone else need a coffee break from life?! ☕ It’s #MotivationMonday, so here’s a cafecito tutorial! If you watch my stories on the gram, I have a deep love (addiction?) for Cuban coffee. After a few requests for a recipe, now you can try it for yourself! • Ingredients: • 1 - 3-cup aluminum stovetop espresso machine (in Spanish simply called a cafetera) • 1 cup of water • ½ cup of espresso coffee grounds (I use Cafe La Llave) • 3.5 - 5 teaspoons of organic cane sugar, according to taste (yes organic, the bleached white sugar tastes like caca). • 1 stainless steel mug • Directions: • Add the sugar to your stainless steel mug (where you will pour the brewed coffee) and set aside. Fill the bottom part of the espresso maker with water. As a rule of thumb, the water will cover half of the nail on the inside (this is to brew 3 cups of coffee, adjust as desired). Place the metal coffee filter on top and fill with coffee grounds. Do not pack it in. Fill it and gently pat the top when it’s full. Screw on the top part of the cafetera, ensuring that it’s tight. • Place the cafetera on the stove (which should be set to high) and let the water boil. As soon as the coffee starts to brew (after a couple minutes, depending on your stove), remove the cafetera from the heat and pour a small amount of coffee into the cup that has the sugar. Place the cafetera back on the stove to finish brewing. • Take a spoon and stir the beejeezus out of the sugar and coffee mixture until the sugar melts and it turns into an ivory paste of deliciousness. Once the coffee has finished brewing (you’ll hear the brew slow down) remove it from the heat and wait until it goes quiet. Slowly pour the coffee into your sugar paste and stir until all the sugar has melted. Grab your espresso cup, pour, and enjoy! Azucar! • 🎥: #AmaraSayid
