We are joining another PSIP session - this time, I am showing you more physical autonomic release through tremors and pain in my right shoulder. • I know it looks intense but stick with me! lol • I had shoulder pain for months leading up to this session and this session dramatically decreased that pain which makes me think it was more psychosomatic than physical. • To get to this point, we use selective inhibition (SI), which I mentioned in my last video. SI is a process we use to limit all coping mechanisms. So for a lot of people that includes breath, physical movement, daydreaming (visualization), and dissociation. • PSIP works very hard to orient the participant to dissociation. When you bring attention to the dissociation you find that it is actually a nuanced state. It is not a blanket experience. • Dissociation can feel like floating in water or space, sometimes it can feel like melting, or sometimes it can feel like being made of a different material. • And when you start to associate to the dissociative state you start to cycle back and forth between disconnection and connection and autonomic release. • I go through many cycles of this in this session until my body is prepared for the full autonomic release which we call a state 2 wave (more on nervous system states later). • Dissociation is a normal response to overwhelm and it is adaptive. But if you live in a chronically dissociated state then it is challenging to connect back to your body and to process trauma. • Many people spend their entire therapy experience in a dissociated state which is why nothing ever changes outside of the session. • Cannabis or ketamine are particularly effective for this process because they help break down the dissociative process and create a pathway for your nervous system to go into autonomic release. • #PSIP #SomaticHealing #MindBodyConnection #TraumaRelease #NervousSystemHealing #AutonomicRelease #SelectiveInhibition #PsychosomaticPain #SomaticTherapy #HolisticHealing #Tremoring #EmotionalHealing #TraumaInformed #SelfAwareness #NervousSystemReset #SomaticExperience
