AMIT TV (0194) • Another nice Poupystar music DVD produced from footage of Mark Knopfler’s first solo tour in 1996. This one is from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and follows on from the AMIT TV 0192 video from the day before ( • Mark Knopfler – Concert: Ahoy, Rotte... . The taper here was filming from the front row almost dead centre of the stage so plenty of close-ups of Mark. Video quality is good for a VHS sourced video from this era, a bit jumpy at times (hand held). The original DVD audio quality was very good, but unfortunately suffered from annoying dropouts every 4-5 seconds. We have synced the audio from another recording onto the video which makes for a slightly better experience (some parts still out of sync). Mark was in good spirits on the night, and this shortened experience is from the middle part of the show and captures some nice moments. A one point during ‘Imelda’ he gets right into a nice little groove 15:55 (“falling asleep playing”). Also at 33:15 just off camera, Richard shakes his hand during the end solo of ‘Calling Elvis” • • Mark Knopfler: Scheduled Concert #32/84 1996 • Concert: Rotterdam (2ndt of 2) • Location: Ahoy, Rotterdam, the Netherlands www.ahoy.nl/en/ • Date: Sunday, 2 June 1996 • Length: 56:04 • SET LIST • 1.
