The Standing Cable Woodchopper is an excellent overall core strengthening exercise that is great for the obliques. To get started: • 1. Set the cable pulley to a high setting with a handle attached. • 2. Grab the hand with both hands and walk away from the cable machine so you can keep your arms straight throughout the range of motion. • 3. Next, rotate your torso by pulling the handle down and across your body toward your front knee, while keeping your abs tight. When I say “abs tight”, think about how you would contract your abs as if someone was about to punch you in the stomach. • 4. Be sure to pivot your back foot for more power. • 5.
