To boost start in Mario Kart: Double Dash, hold the A button when the signal turns green. • This is difficult to pull off and takes some practice. Another idea is to watch Lakiu's arm instead of the signals; his arm points when down a new signal appears, and when it goes green, press A when you see his arm pointing down - not before. • In co-op, you can achieve an even stronger boost start by both successfully performing a boost. • To mini-turbo in Mario Kart: Double Dash, while drifting with the L or R button, tilt the analogue stick in the opposite direction of the turn, creating sparks from the back of the kart.
