Let's explore the enchanting and thin white strip of Capitana that extends to the east of the Gulf of Cagliari and fades between rocks overlooking the crystalline blue sea. • Enjoy! • Introduction by Roberto Bodano. • ~~~ • Its beach is divided between two inlets, the first smaller, crescent-shaped, the second elongated towards a rocky promontory. It is narrow, due to the continuous erosion caused by the sea, and long, almost two kilometers, which border the locality of the same name, in the territory of Quartu Sant'Elena, the third city by inhabitants of the island. Capitana beach characterizes a large stretch of the Cagliari-Villasimius panoramic road, appearing with its bright colors at the end of a straight road and just before entering a landscape where the villas give way to the green of poplars, tamarisks and eucalyptus trees, small reliefs covered with Mediterranean scrub and scenic rocky cliffs. • You can access the beach from various deviations on Provincial Road 17 and you will find a strip of fine white sand, which immediately gives way to the shoreline and a low and sandy seabed, gently sloping towards the open sea. The sea is transparent near the shore, then the various shades of blue become darker and darker as you move away with your gaze, until they become deep blue. When the mistral and sirocco blow, Capitana becomes an irresistible attraction for surfers and kite and windsurf enthusiasts, for whom there is no shortage of schools and equipment rental services. To the west of the beach there is a well-equipped marina with two docks, awarded the 2020 Blue Flag as a tourist landing place. In these parts, the seabed near the cliffs becomes stony, and, thanks to the transparency of the sea, snorkeling allows you to observe a rich marine fauna. • Numerous services nearby, including bars-restaurants, pizzerias, hotels, campsites and sports fields. Proceeding east, near the promontory there is another small beach, made of pebbles and emerging rocks: it is Baia Azzurra, ideal for relaxing as it is intimate and private, thanks to the rocky stretches that delimit it. There is a comfortable wooden walkway for sunbathing and enjoying the view. On the left, at the foot of the rocky spur, a part of the coast is called 'caletta delle Vasca'. You will be surprised by the transparency of the water, with turquoise hues, from which white rocks smoothed by the waves emerge. • You can also explore the historical and archaeological traces of the area by visiting the Carlo Baldi military battery, a fortification dating back to the 1930s, and the Diana nuraghe, a trilobate structure from the mid-2nd millennium BC. According to popular legend, the Nuragic fortress guards a fabulous treasure: the loot was accumulated by a pirate and his companion, the Capitana, who waited in vain for his return, scanning the sea from these shores, honored by the local people with the name of the place. • SOURCES: • https://www.sardegnaturismo.it/it/esp... • 👇 Social 👇 • https://linktr.ee/robertobodano • SIGN UP ➜ http://bit.ly/2C0hHdE • FACEBOOK ➜ https://goo.gl/yGqbhv • INSTAGRAM ➜ https://goo.gl/6SRjhm • TWITTER ➜ https://goo.gl/7NdnXE • VIDEO MAP ➜ https://goo.gl/mnDdUQ • SARDINIA BLOG ➜ https://goo.gl/KnNZge • DONATIONS ➜ https://goo.gl/jJCpXL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #sardegna #thesilentube83 #capitana #quartusantelena 🎵 Track Info: ––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Music: The Bluest Star - The 126 ers • The Bluest Star – The 126ers (No Copy...
