Kafka, though, is not like other workloads, and has its own set of constraints and expectations. This talk will begin with a description of Kubernetes, and then outline the challenges we faced — and solutions we developed — to run this heavily stateful application in this new world. Finally, we will offer our thoughts on whether, in retrospect, it was an experiment worth doing at all.
