tbh i don’t remember the thought process that led me to going to this. a desire to derust, maybe, but the things i want to grind for are things i will never have time for. like after today i’m gone for a week, then i have a week I’ll spend studying, then i’m gone for a week and a half, then college basically starts again. like i’m not back publicly by any metric, at most i’ll be getting all achievements again on a new account (vanilla unfortunately so steamhunters doesn’t clap me should the steam achievements update.) but i have no regrets, this was a mostly fun and mostly good experience which puts it LEAPS and BOUNDS above everything else i’ve done aside MAYBE forbidden isle and boj. don’t remember anymore. ultimately, it was good to do an extreme again after 3 and a half years. missed the feeling :) • ~3.5k atts and i played for probably 9 hours over the course of two days • === id, personal rankings === • • ID: 61079355 • Enjoyment: 7.5 or 8/10 (to start negatively, the first 14% is definitely a chore and not fun to drudge through, even though it’s largely fair. the last cube being the hardest part makes it frustrating when the rest is largely consistent. and 72% is just a skibidi toilet input. i hate it so much. but like, in the end, it’s not only fun to learn but fun to HONE—figuring out strategies that make parts more consistent gives you immediate gratification and the level is filled with moments like it. 14% to the drop, the whole first wave and spider, 44%, the list goes ooooon. most deaths feel like your fault and not the level’s so it didn’t get to me much. i think it’s nearly as good as an extreme can possibly be and the popularity is well deserved) • Difficulty: 9/10 (unquestionably extreme, even if it’s the most entry extreme to ever entry extreme. i personally found it harder than forbidden isle but there’s a wide skillset difference between the two—this is learny, isle is skill-based—so i get why places like the AREDL think otherwise. but you do need legitimate gamesense to pull it all off in one run, which i can’t say for most insanes i’ve done. it’s about knowing where each input will take you and preparing for any variance that could happen. the only real breather in the level is 36% or so, i have died everywhere else. yes even 20% where you just hold. it was 5am. it’s not about each part’s individual difficulty or click sync, it’s about chaining everything you know together, and that is extreme to me.) • • Level Music: Epilogue (by Creo): • https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/list...
