Grands pas de chats are also called grands jetés, sauts de chats, or flick jetés. • The linking step 'contretemps' is often difficult to grasp because it is almost too simple: as you land from your grand pas de chat with your left leg in front, you simply do a tiny rond (circle) with your right leg to place it in front (or to cross over) your left leg. It is basically a small scissor jump that leads directly into the next tombé-pas de bourrée. • The preparation steps (tombé-coupé-temps levé) for the grand fouetté at the end (as seen in Giselle act II), are tricky because of their rhythm (down-down-up) and quick change of direction (back corner/ front corner). • Like the video?
