This was among the vintage Jolson standards which he re-recorded for the Decca label during the 1940s. Al’s unprecedented showbiz comeback, fueled by the 1946 movie “The Jolson Story” in which he lip-synched the songs for lead actor Larry Parks, resulted in four top-selling 78rpm albums for Decca between 1946 and 1949 (three reached #1, the other peaked at #2).
