Thank you for the 1k likes on my vlog about this Liszt :) Keep reading for the behind-the-scenes story: • This was my third and last take. It was recorded after my Goethe class at Yale in the morning and I wasn't very alive in the beginning, plus there was construction going on right outside and workers were hammering bricks whenever I had rests in the music... Even though I only wanted to do 2 takes, I ended up with 3 in 2 hours and I was exhausted by the end :p I always find it strange recording Liszt in an empty room because I think I ride off of the live energy from being at a performance whenever I play Liszt, so it's very possible that I would play this differently live. Also, I can never play 100% of the notes - which is usually expected in a recording but more normal live...
