This skimmer basket add on has many great benefits. It can increase your pools skimmer velocity by up to 300% which translates into a cleaner pool surface. You can literally see the surface skimming increase right when you drop in the Skim Doctor. It is pretty amazing. I mention at the end how large leaves can clog up the Skim doctor Channel area – this is not a negative but just a side effect of the product design – it has to have a reduced opening to create the vortex effect. Not a big deal as you can remove the skim doctor in the month where large leaves are falling and put it back in afterwards. • I shot a section with the Waterway locking skimmer basket but edited it out for time purposes. If you have a pool with one of those you know they are a real pain when you try to twist the basket out.
