PAL 50Hz • I guess it had to be uploaded at some point. • This game makes absolutely no sense, you play as pop king Michael Jackson and your mission is to simply rescue hidden children from a mob boss called ''Mr.Big'' who looks like Fred Gwynne rather than Joe Pesci from the Mega Drive version. You travel through different locations based on Michael's music and you can moonwalk and even do dance attacks on your enemies. What a wonderful world it would be if we could do a Ray-Gun Olympic break dance in front of a rapist or murderer to make them disappear or break out in a John Travolta Saturday Night Fever pose in front of a drug dealer. • The game manual makes no effort to give you a story or to explain how Michael even became a super hero who can change into a car, plane, robot or how he has magical powers. Michael Jackson is referenced in the manual as a ''champion of peace and love''. • Despite the silly nature of the game, the game has great graphics, comfortable controls and a superb soundtrack redone for the Sega Master System. It's a great action platformer for the Master System and a game I would definitely recommend. • NOTES: • 1. I personally beefed up the bass using an equalizer since the music is often criticised for it's tinny, high pitched tone. • 2. This is the only rip recorded from the game running in PAL mode on the entire internet. The white noise percussion sounds better in PAL 50Hz from this particular sound driver as it doesn't have that sluggish sound to it which is how it sounds in NTSC 60Hz. Usually if the game has optimised audio for PAL matching it's NTSC counterpart, then the PAL sound is always the better one. If it's not optimised in audio for PAL sounding slower and faster in NTSC, then the sluggish white noise percussion doesn't exist when running it in NTSC 60Hz. • 3. All music tracks end with the dance attack jingle edited in giving the tracks a solid stop. • 4. You'd think innocent PSG renditions of popular music would not be copyrighted right? Wrong! This video has been matched and content ID'd for copyrighted material and is claimed by over a dozen music publishers. Luckily the video isn't blocked and is available to watch worldwide and is not affected by these claims. If I was monetising though, I wouldn't be allowed to make any money off it (which is fair). • MUSIC COMPOSERS: Michael Jackson, Hiroshi Kubota, 1982, 1987, 1990. • SOUND PROGRAMMER: Takayuki Nakamura (中村隆之) • SOUND QUALITY: 384 Kbps. • SOUND DRIVER: SMS 8-bit SMPS V3 • TRACKS: ♫ • 1. Smooth Criminal (00:16) • 2. Beat It (03:38) • 3. Another Part Of Me (06:35) • 4. Billie Jean (10:04) • 5. Bad (14:09) • 6. Mr. Big (17:17) • 7. Henchman (20:42) • Recorded from an original PAL SEGA Master System model 1 console through the top AV output and then carefully ripped to a blank audio recordable CD-R disc and played back in my PAL SEGA Mega-CD II attachment to my PAL HD VA4 November 1991 SEGA Mega Drive model 1 console. • Enjoy and if you don't like it, just beat it!
