Ever since I saw a stained glass cookie made in a cookie challenge on Food Network, I immediately wanted to know how to make one. I browsed through our library's cake books and saw this recipe on how to make it. • The stained glass effect is attributed to fruit flavored hard candies. I use and bake sugar cookies recipe as the base. Simple shaped cookie cutters help to get the design clearly. You will need at least 2 cookie cutters, one smaller than the other. I'm using the heart shaped ones since Valentine's day is just around the corner. • If the cookies are too sticky, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
