@winkles-moose2022 • Embark on an quick, one minute, short adventure, as we journey from the tranquil wilderness of Whitefish, Montana, to the vibrant metropolis of Chicago, Illinois, all from the comfort of coach on Amtrak’s Empire Builder. • Don’t take it too serious as I’ve pulled together multiple snippets of our journey that took over 38 hours to cover the 1,500 miles, averaging 39 mph. 🤔 • Our journey begins amidst the breathtaking beauty of Glacier National Park, where towering peaks and glacial valleys captivate the eye at every turn. As the train chugs along, we make our way through the heart of Montana, with notable stops in Shelby where the spirit of the West still echoes in the winds. • Crossing into North Dakota, we find ourselves in the quaint town of Minot, known for its Scandinavian heritage and friendly atmosphere. From there, the train carries us through the rolling plains of Minnesota, making a brief stop in St. Paul, before continuing our eastward journey. • As we traverse the picturesque landscapes of Wisconsin, we pass through the charming city of La Crosse, nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. Our route takes us through the iconic Wisconsin Dells, famous for its stunning rock formations and scenic beauty, offering a glimpse into the natural wonders of the Midwest. • Next, we arrive in Milwaukee, a city brimming with culture, history, and culinary delights. From its stunning waterfront to its vibrant arts scene, Milwaukee offers a rich tapestry of experiences waiting to be explored. • Finally, our journey culminates in the bustling hub of Chicago's Union Station, where the hustle and bustle of city life await. From its iconic skyline to its world-class museums and culinary scene, Chicago offers a perfect blend of urban excitement and Midwestern charm. • Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to Winkles-Moose2022. • Our Story: • Winkles and Moose's Amtrak Adventures was inspired by my Grandfather's time working on the Pennsylvania Railroad in the early 1900s. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1918 due to a common railroad accident. He worked as a lineman in Crestline, Ohio, a main hub for the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). My dad would often take Santa Fe's El Capitan to visit his mother in Huntington, Indiana via Chicago. During my father's last 6 months in hospice, we watched countless YouTube videos about Amtrak adventures, Pennsylvania Railroad history, and travel blogs. He always wanted to go on one more trip , but it was not feasible, so we watched our favorite YouTube channels instead. With a little free time, I decided to take one more trip with Moose, my grandchildren's long-distance phone buddy. We embarked on a Where's Moose? experience, traveling over 6,000 miles, visiting 119 cities and 18 states, and sleeping in coach for six nights. • Our Mission: • We make videos about Amtrak Coach seats because we believe there is a need to address passenger comfort, accessibility, safety, and overall travel experience. Understanding the features, amenities, and potential improvements of Coach seats can enhance the journey for passengers and help Amtrak provide better service. • Accessibility in terms of income is another crucial aspect to consider when discussing Amtrak Coach seats. • Ensuring affordability and options for individuals across various income levels promotes inclusivity and enables more people to access rail travel as a viable transportation option. • Helpful links: • 1) Amtrak: The main provider of passenger train services in the United States.
