#Khiva is one of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan. Its history goes back over two and a half thousand years. • The ancient city of Khiva was once the center and the most beautiful place of the Khorezm Khanate. Its rich heritage, which has survived to this day, makes Khiva one of the most interesting cities in modern Uzbekistan. • There is a legend saying that he appeared and began to grow around the well built by Shem, the son of the biblical Noah himself. At the end of the 16th century, the city became the center of the Khiva Khanate and received a second period of development and prosperity, becoming one of the most important and largest centers of Islam in the East. At the beginning of the 20th century, Khiva received a new stage of development as part of the Russian Empire. • The city is full of magnificent sights, among which you can see buildings of both secular and religious purposes.
