Silla was founded by Bak Hyeokgeose (박혁거세 거서간, 朴赫居世) in 57 BC. The kingdom of Silla stood until 935 AD. It lasted around 990 years and had 56 monarchs, making it one of the longest-running dynasties in human history. • In this episode, we will be start by looking at the foundation of the dynasty and discuss some early rulers of Silla. Next, we will talk about the Three Kingdoms of Korea 삼국시대 and the interactions between them. Then, we will look at how Buddhism became state religion when a prophecy was fulfilled with a monk named Ichadon 이차돈.
