https://getphysicalmusic.lnk.to/GPM591 • ‘Bedouin Ride’ is one of the standout tracks from DJ T.’s ‘Trans Orient Express’ album and it now gets a standalone release along with a selection of fresh new remixes from Musumeci, Theus Mago and Balam. • ‘Trans Orient Express’ was the result of legendary underground artist DJ T. going through a deep transformative shift, with new inspirations taken from spiritualism, a trip to South America and the healing arts. ‘Bedouin Ride’ directly references that in its title, but also musically, with desert-blues guitars riding over the drums to bring a deeply thoughtful and emotional vibe. The whole track is a worldly journey with rich melodies that stay with you long after it finishes. • First to remix is Musumeci, a project by Mauro Di Martino, a Sicilian DJ and producer since the late 80s with releases on Innervisions and Connaisseur Recordings. His version is a tantalising remake with suspensory synths, sci-fi effects and a warm bassline to carry you deep into the night. Next remixer, label regular and Mexican producer Mateo González is Theus Mago. He is well established and has his own take on dark disco which defines the Duro label he runs. His vital version is an experimental one that pulls the track to pieces then rebuilds it with an eerie, empty groove, haunting pads and a sense of tension that keeps you locked for the full seven-minute trip. Last of all, emerging • Argentinian talent Balam steps up and offers a deep and trippy version with drums that ride up and down and guitar riffs that hark back to his homeland.
