Another Video with one of my team mates and he is one of the most gifted players with the racket I have met so far: Yeoh Seng Zoe from Malaysia. He can do some incredible shots and in this video he will show us his two favourite racket skills, that also bring him a lot of points. • Overview: • 0:00 Intro • 0:47 Reverse Slice • 3:04 Net Skills • 6:30 Outro • • Wrist or forearmrotation? • In the video we use the word wrist many times, but if you want to be precise, a lot of movement that seems to happen in the wrist actually comes from rotation in your forearm without any wrist movement. The range of motion of your wrist is quite limited and especially the quick slice movement from the reverse slice comes mainly from forearm. But as Yeoh shows in perfection, the wrist is very important for the direction that you give the shuttle and the control by doing slight adjustments during the shot. In my eyes a good way to put it is: The wrist doesn’t give you speed and power in your shots but direction and control. • Detailed Tutorials for Slices and Cross Court Net Shots: • I also made two detailed step by step tutorials for the slice as well as the cross court net shot that you can find here: • How to Master the Cross Court Net Shot: • How to Master the Cross Court Net Shot • Sliced Dropshots: Send your opponent into the wrong direction: • Sliced Dropshots: Send your opponent ... • References: • If you want to see the full match of Yeoh, where he took the title at the Irish Open you find it here: • Video
