Its construction began in 1475. The tower was intended to be an attractive entrance into the city instead of a defensive tower. Vladislav II placed the foundation stone. The city council gave Vladislav II the tower as a coronation gift. While it was being built, it was called the New Tower. Peter Parler's work on the Charles Bridge inspired the tower's look. • https://goo.gl/maps/U3snob4Y6WpqazZR7 • Celetná is a street in the Old Town, Prague, connecting Old Town Square with the Powder Gate. It is one of Prague's oldest streets and part of the Royal Route. Although Celetná is a former Prague trade route, the street is named after bread baked in the Middle Ages. It became part of the Royal Route in the 14th century (the coronation parade). • https://goo.gl/maps/RkoX6iGmWjiM48bS9 • Old Town Square is the oldest and most important Square in Prague. It is surrounded by historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague's Old Town since the Middle Ages, a marketplace crossing European merchants' roads. The first houses were built around the Old Town Square in the 12 and 13 centuries. Some present homes still have Romanesque or Gothic foundations, basements, or ground floors. The Old Town City Hall was built in the 14th century, and the Church of Our Lady was constructed before Tyn a little later. The Old Town Square became Prague Old Town's economic and political center. • https://goo.gl/maps/5p7mgsjJ9zqtHYAC9 • Wenceslas Square (Václavské námΔstí) • This Square is the commercial and administrative center of the city and the site of important social and historical events. You'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centers here. The Square was created when Charles IV founded the New Town in 1348. Today, it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek's statue of the national patron, St Wenceslas, from 1912. • https://goo.gl/maps/R3o7pbj6FeG7QVok6 • My second channel: • / @driverelaxradio • Instagram: • / perceptionphilosophy • Recorded in 4k • Perception Philosophy © 2024 • 10 March, 2024 • Czech Republic
