Hi Folks, Welcome to Man Cave Makings with me Gus, • In this video, I’ll take you through the process of how I made a really solid metal workbench for a friend of mine. Obviously, there are many different styles and ways in which to do a project like this, but I thought I would put together my thoughts on the basics. I’m really aiming this video content at someone who is a beginner or might just want to find out some tips on how to start and the processes to help keep you on the right track when planning, setting out and keeping it square through the welding phase of the build. • As with all of my videos my aim is to give as much information as possible to cater to all viewers, including a step by step guide of how I did it. I hope you can take something away from the information shared in the video and use it in your own projects and workshops. • If you want to find out more about some of the materials used in this video then please check out the list below. • Base material – • 50mm x 50mm x 3mm box section steel • Top rail (this allows for the 2 granite flagstones to be placed on the top) 25mm x 25mm x 3mm steel angle • Welding machine set up – • R Tech TIG160PDC • R Tech FT-47K-CL Foot pedal • CK tig torch – CK9FX (4M no sheath) • Furick FUPA12 Ceramic cup with 2% Thoriated Tungstens (2.4mm) • ER70S-2, 1.6mm Tig Rods (A15 triple deoxidised) • General – • Various flapper discs from 80-120 grit • Non-woven paint prep disc for removing the mill scale • Music: • Weero Mitte - Our Dive [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds.
