Marty is back with his thoughts on 2 of the latest releases by Heavy Metal veterans, Orden Ogan and Dream Evil. Orden Ogan continue to hone their blend of sophisticated European heavy/power metal as processed through a modern/commercial lens. Even though The Order of Fear is a slight upgrade in regards to finding more aggression lurking in the layers of this album, Orden Ogan maintains their core sound and continues to create quality metal. • Dream Evil’s Metal Gods is Marty’s “Call to Arms” as it's a nice companion to Orden Ogan. Metal Gods is this Swedish bands 7th album and finds them in more of a traditional lane when it comes to European heavy Metal. Perhaps we’ve heard it before, but Dream Evil continues to create solid and heavy music that pays tribute to their influences, while avoiding the plague of stagnation.
