Daniel Shaw is a psychotherapist practicing in New York City. He specializes in psychoanalysis, having trained with leaders in the Relational Psychoanalytic school. Shaw also studied Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and is certified in Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment. He works with adults to overcome obstacles in their personal and professional lives, focusing on narcissistic abuse and cult survivor recovery. • Previously an actor and missionary, Shaw left a cultic organization in 1994 and became a mental health professional. He is a faculty member at The National Institute for Psychotherapies, and the author of Traumatic Narcissism: Relational Systems of Subjugation and Traumatic Narcissism and Recovery, which introduced traumatic narcissism theory to the field. A subject we will cover in depth in the second of our two discussions.
