Season 2 Review here:    • Season 2 Review - A Guide to Classic ...   • I love Season 1 of Thomas the Tank Engine, every episode is a classic! There's a lot of great things for the Season I give my thoughts on here. • I've left the comments on, so any thoughts, discussions from any of you are welcome! • Here are the timestamps for the reviews of each episode: • Thomas and Gordon: 0:40 • Edward and Gordon: 1:58 • The Sad Story of Henry: 3:53 • Edward, Gordon, and Henry: 5:18 • Thomas' Train: 6:26 • Thomas and the Trucks: 7:32 • Thomas and the Breakdown Train: 8:38 • James and the Coaches: 10:03 • Troublesome Trucks: 12:16 • James and the Express: 16:02 • Thomas and the Guard: 17:25 • Thomas Goes Fishing: 19:51 • Thomas, Terence, and the Snow: 21:09 • Thomas and Bertie: 23:15 • Tenders and Turntables: 24:18 • Trouble in the Shed: 25:55 • Percy Runs Away: 27:41 • Coal: 29:52 • The Flying Kipper: 31:36 • Whistles and Sneezes: 33:56 • Toby and the Stout Gentleman: 35:58 • Thomas in Trouble: 38:37 • Dirty Objects: 40:39 • Off the Rails: 42:32 • Down the Mine: 44:55 • Thomas' Christmas Party: 46:59 • Concluding Thoughts: 48:34 • Thoughts on the Ringo Starr/ George Carlin Debate: A lot of people consider George’s narration to have much less excitement and more monotone in it compared to Ringo’s, but I think that’s by and large an exaggeration. There are many times where Ringo outdoes George, but most of the time George is on point with him. And there are other times where George does just fine with a quieter tone because he captures the emotion anyway. And that’s because George has a better voice than Ringo. Narration isn’t just about emotion or voice diversity, but also about having a good voice to listen to. Ringo unfortunately has a very bland voice compared to George. And George always tops Ringo in giving characters distinct voices. His narrations capture everything better usually and I think the complaint that he sounds bored compared to Ringo is an unfair exaggeration. In truth, George Carlin was probably the best narrator, with a great voice to listen to, a healthy amount of excitement, and the most iconic range of voices for the characters. • At the end of the review, the score came out for 17 episodes for George Carlin, 7 for Ringo Starr, 2 are tied. • • Footage from ThomasHDClassics. • Music: Sudrian Afro, MKtheInstrumentalist, Thomas Themes Extended.
