Did you know your ventral vagal nerve is responsible for feeling connected and emotionally available? Sometimes when we find ourselves in distressing disagreements, our ventral vagal nerve is deactivated by the fight-flight-freeze response and our ability to communicate plummets. • Polyvagal theory tells us to slow down, and get our ventral vagal system activated again BEFORE trying to solve an argument. Every day, I am humbled by the strength and resilience of the diverse communities I serve, including LGBTQ+, kink/BDSM, polyamorous, and sex worker communities. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, nurturing the connections that matter most and helping you achieve your goals. • ---------------------------------------------------------------- • ▶ LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed this video and hit the 🔔 to get notified when I upload new videos! • ▶ Connect with Me: • Website | https://www.sandertjones.com/ • TikTok | / polyamorous.therapist • Instagram | / polyamorous.therapist • Facebook l / sandertjoneslcsw • Pinterest l / sandertjoneslcsw • ▶ Get Cultivating Connection: • Paperback | https://www.amazon.com/Cultivating-Co... • Ebook | https://www.sandertjones.com/shop/p/h... • Thanks for watching! • #PolyvagalTheory #EmotionalRegulation #FightFlightFreeze #MentalHealthMatters #HealthyCommunication
