An instant classic, and at the top of just about everyone's Best Gamecube Games Ever list. And for good reason, the game is amazing. Retro Studios took the formula of Super Metroid and translated it perfectly into 3D. Some people have qualms with the controls, but the gameplay was well designed around them. One reason this game is so loved is because of the exceptional world building and sense of atmosphere. • This is helped by the incredible soundtrack. Every area is distinct, set apart by it's look and sound. We have the derelict starting area, Frigate Orpheon, with sounds of mystery and the fear of what could have happened here and what the Space pirates were working on. Then we get down to Tallon IV, landing in a lush jungle with music that encourages discovery. Throughout our journey, we'll travel to the decaying Chozo Ruins, into the Magmoor Caverns, to the frozen Phendrana Drifts, and down into the poison infested Phazon Mines to see the horror of the Space Pirate's research. We'll even get to explore the very same frigate where we started the game, except it's crashed into a body of water and completely submerged. All of these areas are matched with appropriate, beautiful sound design. • I had a really fun time remastering each and every one of these tracks. I'm not trying to brag, with nice headphones, you can really hear the difference between this and any other Metroid Prime OST on YouTube. Try these for comparison: Save Station (SO.
