Green Lacewing (Chrysopa spp., Chrysoperla spp.) is shown here munching on Aphids, a pest insect. Often gardeners get concerned when they see bugs on plants, but Aphids will usually attract beneficial insects to create a natural balance of pest management in the garden. In other words, the bad bugs are bait for the good bugs. Case in point is the Green Lacewing seen here eating Aphids. Lacewings can be brown or green, but will have this same body/wing shape. Lacewings are beneficial in larvae adult stages of their life cycle, so it is good to learn how to identify this beneficial insect in all its life stages.
