Daedalus was a great artist and inventor born and raised in Athens. His intelligence and genius was famously known across the land, but his pride in it led to his first downfall. After attempting to murder someone smarter than him, Daedalus was exiled form Athens. • Time passed and Daedalus found himself in the land of Crete, under the rule of king Minos. It was there that Daedalus had Icarus, his beloved son. Daedalus tried to provide a simple, peaceful life for Icarus, but his intelligence attracted too much attention. • Daedalus was involved in the story of the Cretan Bull, and by extension, the birth of the Minotaur, two famous mythological creatures. His deeds in both of these stories led to his second downfall, though it wasn't his fault this time. For his involvement, Daedalus was imprisoned by king Minos.
