Look who I found, trying their best to escape on their own. Luckily I was able to help them out. • This genus of mice has a few species that can be found throughout Canada. Deer mice are a little different than your typical mouse or rat (Muridae); they are in the same family as hamsters (Cricetidae). • Deer mice generally live in underground dens, where they also store their food. They mainly scavenge for seeds and will even take seeds that have fallen from bird feeders.
