In the hills of western Massachusetts, there’s a freshwater fishing oasis that fishes well straight through the hottest days of the year. Join On The Water’s Chris Megan and the Harrison Anglers guide service as they enjoy two incredible days of fly fishing for big rainbow trout on the Swift River. • On day one of fishing, Tom Harrison guides Chris Megan on the upper portion of the Swift River. The waters of the Swift on this stretch are nearly still, which makes for excellent sight fishing for trout. It isn't long before Chris dials in his fly fishing cast and hook set, tying into his first fish of the day. Chris and Tom get great action all day on dry dropper rigs fished with nymphs and egg flies underneath a large dry fly that functions as the strike indicator. • On day two, Chris is joined by Dan Harrison as they navigate the faster, thinner waters south of Belchertown.
