This is Spencer from Pixel Bracket and today we're going to learn how to Unlock the Background Layer. Photoshop files can get pretty messy with a lot of layers and elements on your canvas. There may be a time when you notice that you're having trouble editing and moving an element. In the example here, we can't move the logo due to a locked background layer. To fix this all we need to do is click on the lock icon to the right of the layer name. This will unlock the background layer and allow us to move it. Notice that it also renames the layer for us. If you would like to unlock and rename all at once, simply double-click on the background layer and a window will prompt us to do so.
