Why Did My Greystone Electric Fireplace Quit

The Greystone Electric fireplace in my RV quit at precisely the wrong time on the first really cold night we had. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that the fan was moving too slow to adequately cool the heating element. This was causing the thermal switch to open and disconnecting power from the heater and fan. A replacement part was going to cost $100 - $120 and wasn't a guaranteed fit so I replaced the entire unit for $209. Not only is this a newer unit but it has a remove control and, I believe, LED lights for the logs. Greystone F2609E is the replacement model number. • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...
