Fitness expert, Chee Gates, discusses her experience. • To put its power in perspective, the weight of this flywheel—32 beefcakey pounds—is the same size as NordicTrack’s premier elliptical trainer, the 14.9 Elite, which costs about twice as much. Nothing I did shook this pony—not wrestling with the arm handles, spit-firing the speed, or sudden erratic movements. I’m totally convinced that the condensed footprint—about the length of a loveseat—makes it even sturdier. I felt the inertia-enhanced engineering assisting my stride; it prodded me to keep going without doing any of the work. I didn’t hear any flywheel racket, and the mechanics adjusted quietly when I switched between resistance levels and incline. The foot pedals rest on single rollers, rather than super-secure, dual-headed wheels on the Elite models.
