That’s not to say they didn’t have a few good songs or that Michael Anthony was not an admirable bass player who was equally adept at playing with a pick or finger-style. • • I don’t really like detuning my basses, so I reached out to my old friend from St. Louis, Jim, to, once again, help me out. He’s a guitarist and instructor who has access to a bit of software called ”The Amazing Slow-Downer” which cannot only slow a song down and maintain proper pitch, but can also raise the pitch of a song and maintain proper tempo, which is what he did for me…raised the pitch and kept the tempo.
