http://www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com - If you have foam in your hot tub this is usually a result of the hot tub filters being dirty. Hot tub filters are made from paper and the become saturated with oil (sweat, makeup, lotions) when they get dirty. This results in foam when you turn the jets on. Many hot tub companies will tell you to use an anti foam product which is simply a liquid silicone that reduces the surface tension of the water. Also hot tub owners are often told to increase the calcium hardness of the water since soft water will promote foaming. While both of these tips will help to reduce the foam they do not address the reason why you have the foam in the first place.
