Filmed 9/1 2/12 • UPDATE • The recipient: • Видеоклип • Southern Pacific was the railroad I started modeling when I first really got into the hobby. Then as time went on, I changed over to UP, repainting most of my SP and Rio Grande power... all except for two locomotives, I retained their SP paint. I've been wanting to do a video on the SP for a while now, and when another YouTube member, Andrew (TennesseeHOScalePass) contacted me about painting a locomotive for him, gave me the perfect opportunity to do one... featuring the locomotive I painted for him. • He shipped me a BNSF AC4400CW by KATO which I repainted in Southern Pacific colors. I had to swap out the cab and snow plow to make it more accurate for SP, and I think it came out really nice, to the point I didn't want to give it back to him. But, it wasn't mine, so I did. • And before anyone gets any ideas... I used to custom paint locomotives for money, but it lead to major burn out to the point where I didn't really do much in the hobby for almost 10 years. So, custom work for others is something I don't really do much of anymore. I'd prefer not to loose interest in the hobby again. Anyway, Andrew sent me a Proto2000 SD60M as payment and it's going to make a fine addition to my roster of Kansas City Eastern power. • Before shipping it back though, I took the locomotive out to the club to clean the wheels (I don't have DCC at home) and give it a few laps around the layout MU'd with my two SP units.
