The deputy leader of the ruling • RCC Izzat Ibrahim who supervised Sunday's poll officially declared • Saddam the winner and invited him to take the oath of office. With • his hand on the Koran, Saddam pledged before almighty God, by my • honour and my faith to respect the independence, integrity and • unity of Iraq.
