It's split into two separate units and we're staying in the Birch Creek Unit in site 100. Fantastic! • Birch Creek and Nails Creek Units equal 5520 acres (not counting all the trailways) and it's got a little something for everyone! Fishing, picnicking, swimming, boating....the list goes on and on. And Bald Eagles live here too! • This park is nestled in the post oak savannah of south central Texas, about 30 miles from College Station, home of Texas A M University. One could even say that this is the gateway into East Texas. • This will be the first video of our 3 park vacation which will take us all the way to the edge of the state which is our destination. Lake Somerville State Park is our waypoint stop leading us to the lushness and wetlands of the Big Thicket region.
