HOW TO MAKE KUTSINTA EASY AND SIMPLE

Puto cuchinta or kutsinta is a type of steamed rice cake (puto) found throughout the Philippines. It is made from a mixture of tapioca or rice flour, brown sugar and lye, enhanced with yellow food coloring or annatto extract, and steamed in small ramekins. Kutsinta bears resemblance to the Burmese mont kywe the and Indonesian and Malaysian kuih kosui. • The cooked kutsinta are topped with fresh grated meat from mature coconut.[1] It is consumed year-round as a merienda or snack, and is frequently sold along with puto. Unlike its counterpart, which has a doughy texture, kutsina has a jelly-like, chewy consistency. It can be also enhanced by adding latik for a sweeter taste. • • Ingredients how to cook: • 1. In a medium to large bowl, pour in 1 and half cup of all purpose flour. • 2. Pour in half cup of Tapioca powder. • 3. 1 cup of Sugar. • 4. 2 tsp. Atsuete powder • 5. 3 cups of water. • Mix and stir well until ingredients is dissolved in water. • 6. Add 1 and half tsp. of Lye water. • Stir more . • 7. Arrange silicone molds in the steamer. • 8. Pour the Kutsinta ingredients into the molds. • 9. Close the lid and steam for 40 - 45 mins. • 10. Open and remove from steamer and let it cool for several mins. • 11.
