Bahtinov Mask to Focus on a Star Focusing Tips

Focusing tips: This is the method I use to focus on stars with my telescope and DSLR. With the camera mounted to the telescope, I point the telescope to a bright star. I then place the Bahtinov mask in front of the telescope optical tube. The mask will produce six long angled diffraction spikes on the star. Adjust the telescope's focus so that the central spike appears directly between the other two. • #bahtinov #focus #star
