Julia Bradbury walks the Wainwright Walk up Helvellyn

This was part of the first series of walking programmes with Julia produced by Skyworks for BBC4. It was deemed as one of the most successful of its time. The route starts at the church in Patterdale village. The walk then heads away from Ullswater taking a gentle stroll along Grizedale Valley. This walk then leads you to the hole-in-the-wall. Up ahead is the vast combe of Helvellyn. From up here you start you ascent up Striding Edge. You have a last short steep scramble as you reach the top.
